Q: What’s sweeter than a lovebug on Valentine’s Day?
A: A trio of Paper Lovebugs!
Why? Lovebugs are made from lots of hearts. With three bug designs in this collection, that’s a whole lotta love!

The Lovebug Collection includes:
Card stock is recommended for printing. In addition to the templates, a heart-shaped hole punch (affiliate link) has been used to make mini hearts. If you don’t have one you can use heart sequins or draw mini hearts on.
The lovebug crafts are available separately or as one great-value bundle with three templates for the price of two plus a bonus file of mixed-size open-ended heart shapes.
Onto the lovebugs …
3D Love Butterfly
The Love Butterfly is a rare species seen mostly around mid-February. You can spot them by the heart-shaped wings, stacked heart body and little heart antennae.

When making your Love Butterfly, draw a smiley face or use a curled strip of paper to make a proboscis (or tongue). On a real butterfly, the proboscis acts like a straw, enabling them to drink nectar. For a realistic butterfly craft, check out our a 3D paper Monarch butterfly

Hang your finished Love Butterfly on the wall and she will brighten up the room!

Large 3D Love Bug
Here’s another unique species—the giant, bobble-heart antennaed, heart-nosed love bug. He may be big, but this bug is completely harmless.
He spends most of his time sniffing around for heart-shaped chocolates to nibble on.

His wings are created from large folded hearts covered in a mini-heart pattern. Even his abdomen is heart-shaped.

3D mini love bugs
Just because they’re small doesn’t make these mini love bugs any less important. Yes, they’re tiny, but their little hearts are packed full of love too!

Mini lovebugs are happiest in their natural habitat, a heart-shaped leaf garden.
This papercraft is best suited to ages 8+. Use a black marker to design quirky lovebug details to heart-shaped wings like legs and antennae. A heart-shaped hole punch has been used for the wing markings.

Awww, aren’t they sweet? Each and every mini lovebug is special.
