Here’s a craft you can pull together in around 5 minutes, create from stuff you probably already have and let the kids use as a toy afterwards, gotta love that! These easy bottle top shakers were actually dreamed up by my 5 year old who’s original version was made out of beer bottle caps taped together with rice bubbles inside. Creative yes, but it didn’t make that much of a noise so I changed it just a little bit by using plastic milk bottle lids and colourful duct (electrical) tape. Here’s how we made them…
You will need:
• Plastic milk bottle caps washed and dried (2 per shaker)
• small plastic beads
• Duct tape
• Scissors
• small plastic beads
• Duct tape
• Scissors
This is how easy it is to make them:
Put some beads inside one milk bottle cap.
Put a second cap on top and tape it together with duct tape.
Cut out a little shape from duct tape to decorate. The simpler the easier it will be because the duct tape is very sticky! I tried holding it with craft sticks to make it easier, but I think it would be easier still to stick the piece of tape to a cutting mat and cut it out with a craft knife.
That’s all there is to it! Now it’s time to play…
