I have a thing for making cute printable baskets. Who ever said they should only be for Easter or Halloween?
These Santa and Reindeer character baskets would make lovely handmade Christmas gifts for grandparents or kids’ school friends with a small treat or gift inside.
I’ve used card stock, but you could easily use plain paper and they would still turn out well. With card stock, it’s necessary to score the fold lines before folding so that you get crisp, accurate folds. With plain paper, you could make them without scoring the fold lines, but the finished basket would be more flimsy.
Sometimes during the holiday season, we need stuff that will keep kids busy for longer. So in addition to the colour versions, the templates also come in black-and-white line art. Get creative and make them any colour or pattern you like!
How to make printable Santa and Reindeer Baskets
You will need:
• The printable basket template, available from our printables store, or you can also get it in our TPT store
• Scissors
• Glue stick
• Blunt knife and metal ruler for scoring
How To
- Print and cut out the template of your choice. If using the black and white line art versions colour them in
- Optional: Score the fold lines (the dotted ones) by holding a ruler against them and running along them with a blunt butter knife. Scoring makes folding the paper very easy and will give you crisp, accurate folds.
- Fold along all the fold lines. This should be really easy after scoring them.
- Glue on the tabs and stick together into a basket shape. Stick the handle on and you’re done!
