Simple super hero masks with printable template

This week we had need of a Super Hero mask at the last minute for one of my girls. It was school disco night with a ‘Super Hero’ theme and Miss R had grown out of her Super Girl costume. No problem! She decided to go as a “Princess Super Hero” instead, teaming a fairy dress with a borrowed Elsa cape and a pair of sparkly shoes – all it needed was a mask. Luckily I am well stocked in craft materials and was able to quickly knock out this template so I could make a matching sparkly pink one in time for the big event, and I also made a few extra shapes and optional decorations so that’s it’s easy to mix and match and make your own masks at home too. I’ve used craft foam for my masks  because I had a large stack of it on hand but these templates could also be used with felt or card stock, whatever you prefer.

You Will Need

– Craft foam (or card stock or felt)
– This mask template
– Hat elastic
– Craft glue
– Scissors or cutting knife and mat
– optional bling

Print out your template and stick your preferred mask shape onto your craft foam with a small amount of double sided tape. Then cut out the shape with your scissors or cutting knife and mat. Do the same with the little decorations only using a different colour of foam.

Punch holes in the sides and tie the elastic through, and then glue on the decorations you have chosen. Add the bling if you are choosing to use it, I used little plastic jewel stickers on my daughter’s mask.

Too Easy, you’re done! Now wait for the glue to dry before playtime.

The belle of the ball (in my eyes anyway).

Thank you for this fabulous craft and printable. It’s been absolutely fantastic for my twins superhero themed 5th birthday party. I used eyelets on the side and they have turned out wonderfully. Thank you again ?

This is awesome… my kids will love these. They’ve been playing a “video game in real life” lately, so now they can have some masks for their “characters”.

I’m basically a big kid who never grew up and still loves to muck around with paint, glitter, glue and toilet rolls. With the crafts shared here on this website I’m hoping to give other parents and carers inspiration to get crafty with their kids at home – make our projects, or use them as a source of inspiration to spark ideas of your own.
