Recently we made some toilet roll dinosaurs. Everybody loved them so much that we decided to use a similar concept to make some cute bunnies for Easter (or for any time really, kids love bunnies all year round!). They are simple to cut out and put together, and if your kids are little and don’t have the fine motor skills to sketch and cut them out just yet they will certainly love to paint and decorate them. The best thing about cardboard tube crafts are that they are free! So long as you have basic supplies at home you can make these without going out to buy anything.
You will need:
• One toilet roll per bunny – or one paper towel roll cut in half will make two bunnies
• Scissors and glue – I prefer tacky craft glue
• Paint, markers, etc. to decorate
• This template
Sketch or trace the shape on the template onto a flattened cardboard tube, then cut it out whilst the tube is still flat.
You should end up with two ears, two paws and a body shape that you simply pop back into the original round shape. Fold the head and tail down towards the ground and pop out the hind legs so that they stick out sideways as shown below.
Glue the ears and paws on and allow to dry before painting and decorating.
Ta-da! Ready for play.
