Our paper roll dinosaurs are so popular that we decided to use a similar concept to make some cute bunnies for Easter (or for any time really, kids love bunnies all year round!).

Don’t be put off by how complicated these little bunnies look because they’re actually easy peasy! Use our printable template to get the shapes, then squash, trace, cut and pop back into shape before gluing on the ears and paws.

If your kids are little and don’t have the fine motor skills to sketch and cut them out just yet they will certainly love to paint and decorate them. The best thing about cardboard tube crafts are that they are free! So long as you have basic supplies at home you can make these without going out to buy anything.

How to make paper roll bunnies

You will need:

  • One toilet roll per bunny – or one paper towel roll cut in half will make two bunnies
  • Scissors and glue – I prefer tacky craft glue
  • Paint, markers, etc. to decorate

How to:

Sketch or trace the shape on the template onto a flattened cardboard tube, then cut it out whilst the tube is still flat.

Paper roll bunnies step 2

You should end up with two ears, two paws and a body shape that you simply pop back into the original round shape. Fold the head and tail down towards the ground and pop out the hind legs so that they stick out sideways as shown below.

Paper roll bunnies step 3

Glue the ears and paws on and allow to dry before painting and decorating.
